The Mar Menor

The mar menor or "Little Sea" as it is often called has a 170 km² surface area and is Europe's largest salt water lagoon. It is separated from the Mediterranean by a stretch of land called La Manga ('the sleeve'), which is 24 kilometres in length. La Manga is also famous as a Leisure and Sports resort and is said to be Europe's finest and includes three world class golf courses.
