The Costa Cantabrica is situated along the North coast of Spain and is popular retreat for Spaniards during the hot summer months. It offers an extremely beautiful and varied landscape. The main city is Santander where there is a regular Ferry crossing to Plymouth and Portsmouth, used by many British tourists who aren't in a rush. There are magnificent mountain ranges called the Picos de Europa (European Peaks) and rivers with salmon and trout. The coast of Cantabria also boasts many spectacular bays and small fishing villages.
